Halloween, really?

Yes, Halloween is in the air once again. That dreary, cold, damp, miserable period of what I'll call Late Fall that just kinda blows.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Halloween. It's one of my handful of most favorite Holidays. There is nothing more cool than dressing up in some kick ass costume and taking the kiddos trick-or-treating. Well, I'm sure there are things that are more cool than that, but still - it's a fun time.

Plus, we get to people watch.

When we have kids, and take them out to do the thing (trick-or-treating, that is), then we don't really get the opportunity to do the other fun thing that is a part of the Halloween tradition: handing out candy. One of these years I want to the the "cool house". You know the one. That home that always hands out the "full sized" chocolate bars. None of that fun-sized crap in these parts. One of these years, perhaps.

I've still got to put the final touches on my costume. I've still got to actually make the youngest kiddo's costume (eh, it's only, what, the evening of the 29th…ha). Twin-A has his already to go - same thing that he was last year. Twin-B is currently working on his and I need to get him some spray paint tomorrow. Middle-Schooler got his together yesterday and is good to go.

It should be fun.
